HIDDEN INFLUENCE: Art, poetry, storiez and influence from the PENITENTIARY

Group Exhibition

Curated by Freddy M. de Escobar

August 2nd - 31st, 2024

Opening Reception: August 2nd, 6-9pm

About the Exhibition:

In the shadows of incarceration, countless artists have gone unnoticed, their contributions to society overlooked. From the vibrant strokes of Chicano art to the bold statements of hand and face tattoos, these forms of expression have shaped cultural narratives. Long before Lil Wayne or basketball players drip themselves with ink, it was the realm of gang members who brazenly wore these symbols of defiance and identity. Let's Show the world our insanity, perfection, excellence N flair.
